Girls Room
Floral Installation for a Photography Studio

Creating a dreamlike corner for the ‘Girl Room’
I was invited by an interior designer to create a floral installation for a newly renovated room in a photography studio in Bangkok. The space, named the “Girl Room,” was designed to evoke a sweet, feminine atmosphere, soft, charming, and playful, perfect for styled photo sessions. With its pastel walls and vintage-inspired decor, the room needed a floral touch to enrich the ambiance and elevate its visual appeal on camera.
My challenge was to select a flower palette that would harmonize with the room’s tones, yet still stand out beautifully in photographs. When styling for photography, colours can easily wash out or lose depth under lighting, so it was essential to choose tones that were pastel, yet vivid, and compositions that created dimension within the frame.
For this project, I worked with high-quality artificial flowers, a new and exciting challenge in itself. Unlike fresh flowers, artificial stems vary in realism and flexibility, so I carefully sourced the most lifelike materials available, prioritizing texture, tone, and natural form.
The flowers were arranged in custom installations throughout the room using containers selected by the studio owner, which added a personal and meaningful touch to the styling.
From floor vases to wall-mounted arrangements, every piece was placed with the intention to enhance the room’s feminine energy while also being functional and beautiful for photography. The final result is a cozy, charming setting—one that feels like a page from a dreamscape, where every corner tells a story through colour and bloom.
This project was a joyful balance of art direction, colour sensitivity, and spatial designand a reminder of how floral styling can completely transform a room into a space of inspiration and creativity.
